C3 Wellness Spa

HomeSpa services › For couples

Two therapists, two tables, one hour that starts together.

The suite has its own air-jet tub, a shower and a screen, and it is yours for the whole appointment. From $240 for the pair. This is the one treatment you cannot book online, because two therapists have to be free at the same hour, so call (919) 616-7868 and the front desk will find the slot.

3001 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh. Booking a single treatment instead? Book online here.

The short version

This is the one treatment you cannot book online.

A couples appointment needs two licensed therapists standing in the same room at the same hour. The online system books one therapist at a time, so it cannot hold both for you.

That means one phone call. Ring (919) 616-7868, say the date you want and roughly what time, and the front desk checks which pairs of therapists are free. It usually takes under three minutes.

If you are booking a single massage or facial for yourself, none of this applies. Those go straight through the online booking page with no call at all.

What it costs

Four options, and the price of each.

Every price below covers both people, not one. There is no per person maths to do at the desk and no first visit rate that climbs the second time.

Gift cards cover couples appointments and are the easiest way to hand one over as a present. Buy one on the gift cards page, then whoever receives it calls to pick the date.

A 3.5% card fee applies to card payment, the same as every other treatment here. Cash is exempt. Tips are not included in the prices above.

The couples suite at C3 Wellness Spa in Raleigh, with two massage tables, warm wood panelling and low lighting

The question nobody asks out loud

Same room or separate rooms, and how to choose.

By default both tables go in the same room. You are next to each other, the lights are low, and each of you has your own therapist working at the same time.

You stay draped the whole session, exactly as you would alone. Only the area being worked on is uncovered, and it is covered again before the therapist moves on. Nobody is exposed to anybody.

Separate rooms are possible when two treatment rooms are free at the same hour. Some people prefer that, usually because one of the two wants deep pressure and does not want an audience for the noises that come with it.

Say which you want when you call. There is no price difference either way, and the front desk will tell you honestly whether the separate room version is available on your date.

Can you talk during it?

Yes, quietly, and plenty of people do for the first ten minutes and then stop. There is no rule about silence, though most rooms go quiet on their own.

Who actually books this

The word couples is doing a lot of work here.

It is the name of the appointment, not a rule about who is allowed to book it. Any two people who want to be treated at the same time can take the slot.

If going first time on your own feels like too much, this is the easy version. You get the same private room and the same licensed therapists, with somebody you know two feet away.

The longer version

What the Immerse adds on top of the massage.

Couples Immerse is the extended appointment, at 80 or 110 minutes rather than 50 or 80. The massage sits inside a longer block of time in the couples suite.

The extra time buys you the suite itself: the air-jet tub, the shower, the screen, and a stretch either side of the massage where nobody is hurrying you back out to the front desk.

At 110 minutes there is enough room for add on work, which is where the choice of aromatherapy, hot stones or a scalp and foot focus comes in. Your therapists set that with you at the start.

At $450 the appointment ends with a charcuterie board, and a glass of wine each, waiting for you in the suite. That is what separates the two Immerse prices: the longer block and the food, not extra minutes of pressure.

Wine is limited to one glass each. If you would rather skip it, say so when you call and the board comes on its own.

If the extra length is the only thing you want, the 80 minute Couples Massage at $335 does the same job for less.

Two massage tables set side by side in the couples suite at C3 Wellness Spa in Raleigh

The room

Eucalyptus walls, warm wood and an air-jet tub deep enough to sit in.

The couples suite is the largest treatment room in the building. Two tables sit side by side with space to walk around both of them.

The walls are eucalyptus, the wood is warm rather than clinical, and the light is low enough that neither of you spends the first ten minutes squinting.

There is an air-jet tub, a shower and a screen in the suite. All three are yours during an Immerse appointment, so bring whatever you would take to a pool and leave the rest in the locker.

The suite is on the same floor as the front desk at 3001 Hillsborough Street, Suite 124, with free validated parking in the garage directly outside.

Timing

Book earlier than you think, and arrive earlier still.

Two therapists free at the same hour is a narrower window than one, so couples slots go before single ones do. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable for a weekday evening.

For a Saturday, aim for a month. For the week of Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or graduation weekend, call as far ahead as you are willing to plan, because those fill first and they fill early.

Arrive fifteen minutes before the start time rather than the usual ten. Two sets of forms take longer than one, and both of you need to be changed before either table starts.

If one person is late

The session still ends when it was booked to end, because the therapists are held for that block and the next appointment starts on time regardless.

Whoever arrives on time starts on time. The second person joins for whatever is left of the hour. The price does not change, so the honest advice is to travel separately if one of you is chronically late.

If you know you are running behind, call (919) 616-7868 from the car. Sometimes the whole block can be shifted, and the front desk can only try if they hear from you before the hour starts.

Cancelling

Give at least 24 hours notice. Two therapists have that block held for you, and late notice means neither of them can fill it.

Before you call

The questions people ask at the front desk.

How much is a couples massage in Raleigh?

At C3 Wellness Spa a Couples Massage is $240 for 50 minutes and $335 for 80 minutes, and those prices cover both people. Couples Immerse, the longer version in the couples suite, is $400 for 80 minutes and $450 for 110 minutes. A 3.5% card fee applies to card payment and tips are separate.

Do couples massages happen in the same room?

Yes, by default. Both tables are set side by side in the couples suite and each person has their own therapist working at the same time. You stay draped for the whole session, so only the area being worked on is ever uncovered. Separate rooms can be arranged when two treatment rooms are free at the same hour, at no extra cost.

Can I book a couples massage online?

No. The online system books one therapist at a time and a couples appointment needs two therapists in the same block. Call C3 Wellness Spa on (919) 616-7868 and the front desk will find an hour where two therapists are free. Single massages and facials can still be booked online in the usual way.

What is included in the Couples Immerse?

Couples Immerse is the extended appointment at 80 or 110 minutes, priced at $400 and $450 for two people. At $450 a charcuterie board and a glass of wine each are waiting when you come out. The massage sits inside a longer block in the couples suite, which gives you the air-jet tub, the shower and unhurried time either side. Ask the front desk to read you the current add on list when you call, because that part varies by therapist.

Does a couples massage have to be for a couple?

No. Couples is the name of the appointment, not a condition of booking it. Mothers and daughters, siblings, friends and parents with adult children book it constantly. Any two people who want to be treated at the same time in the same room can take the slot.

How far ahead should I book a couples massage?

Two to three weeks ahead for a weekday evening, and about a month for a Saturday. Two therapists free at the same hour is a narrower window than one, so couples slots go before single appointments do. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and graduation weekend fill first, so call as early as you can for those.

What happens if one person is late?

The session ends when it was booked to end, because both therapists are held for that block and the next appointment starts on time. Whoever arrives on time starts on time, and the second person joins for the remaining minutes. The price does not change, so call (919) 616-7868 from the car if you are running behind and the front desk will try to shift the block.

Do you have to undress completely for a couples massage?

No. Undress to the point you are comfortable with, and many people keep underwear on. You are under a sheet for the entire session and each therapist uncovers only the area being worked on before covering it again. The draping is identical to a single massage.
